Beijing 2008 Olympics: Sailing
We are pleased to now offer Qingdao, Host City for the 2008 Olympic sailing programme, on China’s Eastern Coast as a additional destination within our tailor made programme, now and during the Olympic games in August 2008.
This presents an opportunity to follow the sailing and also experience the culture of what China and in particular the beautiful province of Shangdong has to offer.
A stay in and around Qingdao offers miles of beautiful beaches and many sightseeing opportunities. There are many traditional villages to visit and of course the breathtaking scenery of Mount Laoshan. The region is a culinary delight for seafood lovers with literally every combination of food from the Yellow Sea to be found in the array of traditional restaurants that line the beaches and harbour.

Typical Qingdao Tour
From £625.00 per person (based on 2 people sharing)
This tour includes: internal flights, all transfers to and from hotels, four-star accommodation, transfer to and from airports. International flights are not included (costs from £450.00)
| Day 1 | Depart UK for Bound for Beijing |
| Day 2 | Arrive Beijing - On arrival we will meet you at the airport and you will take a transfer to the Xinqiao Novotel Hotel for 4 nights with daily breakfast - Enjoy the Rest of the day at your leisure. |
| Day 3 | Beijing (B/L/-) - Full day tour including Tian'anmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven - In the Evening you will watch a performance of the Peking Opera. |
| Day 4 | Beijing (B/L/D) - Full day tour including the Great Wall at the Badaling Section, Ming Tombs and the Sacred Road - Peking Duck dinner in the evening. |
| Day 5 | Beijing (B) Transfer to the airport for flight to Qingdao for 4 nights, stay at 4* Sanfod Hotel (this hotel is very near to the marina). Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. In the evening you can enjoy a tour of the Zhongshan Road Cultural Area. |
| Day 6 | Qingdao (B/L) Half Day Tour to Mt Laoshan National Scenic resort, take the rest of day at leisure. |
| Day 7 | Qingdao (B) Full day at leisure. |
| Day 8 | Qingdao (B/L) Full day tour and trip to Lingshan island where you will visit a typical small Shangdong fishing village. |
| Day 9 | Qingdao (B) In the morning we will transfer you back to the Airport for flight to Beijing for a connecting back home. |

There are many other things to do in Qingdao and we will be happy to supply you with other itinerary ideas.
There are two tours you can take in your free time. The supplement for one day tour to Navy Museum and/or Ocean World is £40.00 per person. This price includes any transfers that would be needed and entrance fee.
NB. We can recommend both the Fengfeng restaurant and Yiqing restaurant in Qingdao to experience the best traditional seafood.
