The Beijing Olympics will commence on the 8th August 08, at 8pm. The original idea was to hold the event at the end of the month, when the temperatures began to fall, but due to Chinese superstition the decision was made to start on the date and time stated. The number 8 is considered lucky in China, sounding similar to the phrase “to make money”, in Cantonese.

We are anticipating a large volume of enquiries, from prospective clients for tours to China, during the Olympics. We feel it necessary to advise you that we currently cannot guarantee prices. Many Hotels have already placed an embargo on their availability for the duration of the games; some are able to confirm rooms, but are holding back on prices. We do however expect rooms to be available for the event and will endeavour to notify our clients of costs, as soon as they become available.
The situation will be the same, with regards to flight costs. We expect flight prices to become available approx. 12 months in advance of the games and again will notify our clients of the costs accordingly.
With an expected high demand for manpower, in relation to the organisation of the Olympics we will attempt to offer a full tour programme, but unfortunately cannot guarantee that our set itineraries or a full Tailor Made tour option will be available.
We suggest that any enquiries and reservations are made well in advance, to ensure that we can obtain the best possible results.
